Model Lesson and Portfolio Shoot

The following package is offered to aspiring and experienced models as an educational process combined with hands on practice in front of the camera.

You benefit from my years of experience in both male portrait photography (studio lighting) and actively providing models with posing direction.

I'll share what I've learned while also striving to give you an excellent set of images to help build up your modeling portfolio.

This is both a lesson and a studio photography shoot. I am not a modeling agency nor am I selling connections to paid modeling gigs. See the recent sample images below as an example of the types of shots I can provide. Also, check out these galleries as strong examples of a set of images we captured in about 60 to 90 minutes. Package Includes:

Review posing tips sheet and sample images covering more than 30 tips on mindset, eyes & expression, face and body positioning, and insights into lighting and photography.
Review my vast ideas gallery covering 100's of model poses and select some of your favorite for us to complete.
I'll provide a brief demonstration of the key points we covered in the handout.
Your turn in front of the camera: Live photo shoot as you practice the various posing techniques. I will direct you as we shoot and help you fine tune your poses. We can take any poses covering the full range from fashion to nudes (no nudity is required or expected). You can change outfits several times to provide a variety of looks. The number of images and time shooting will depend on the format you sign-up for (at a private session, you can expect about 30 minutes of education and then one hour of shooting time and 60 or more images).
You will have an opportunity to review select images as we shoot to help demonstrate where you're needing to fine tune your technique and where you've nailed it.
After the shoot, you will receive a set of edited images. Typically you can expect one retouched edited image for each "pose/look" for a total of approximately 10 to 15 images suitable for your modeling portfolio, including placement on your Model Mayhem page and your social media (with photo credit to me).
I will share at least one image on my social media and a gallery of selected images on my website (you will gain exposure to my followers and I can link to your social media if you desire). The assumption is that you're comfortable signing a model release to allow me to add images from our shoot to my portfolio. Additional fee may apply if you prefer 100% private images for your exclusive personal use.
We can discuss the option to hire you as a model at a future photography workshop. Placement is not guaranteed and will depend on your look, the results and current model need. I recommend joining my Male Photography Meetup as a way to learn about future opportunities to model for a group of photographers. At the session, you can expect:

Safe Place:

All models are respected and same is expected of the photographer. This is a safe place for you to have male photography done in an established, licensed, photography studio. If you desire to pose nude, these are handled professionally and with experience.

Professional Experience:

Using top professional lighting and camera equipment along with years of experience shooting in a studio, provides you with high quality results. You can expect professional photographs of yourself that will capture your unique style and put you in the best possible light.

Creative & Fun Approach:

Experimenting with creative ideas and being open to trying interesting poses, lighting, props, and camera angles provides you with exciting, visually stunning results. I want you to be actively involved in posing ideas and trying things. It is certainly reasonable to be "directed" at times, but I often get better results when the model comes to the shoot with some ideas and props.

Cost and Booking a Session:

The total cost for a model lesson and shoot is $225. Cost is $275 if you want 100% private option (not in my portfolio). Additional fee for longer sessions or on location may apply.

Want to do this but can't afford the cost? Two options:

Join the Male Photography Meetup and learn about group versions of this package which will cost less. You would be doing the same thing with other models and you would therefore have less time in front of the camera and fewer images delivered after the event.

Discounted or free for select models who have a look and experience suitable for a current porfolio need. You can inquire about this option.
